I adore these wings! The key is from Micheals--their new Momenta line of metal embellishments.
The 'rod' next to the flowers, that the paper is folded around (this is where I will jot down my notes to the person this card goes to) is also from the Momenta line at Micheals.
The card opens like a book and the main frame of the card is 2 thin canvas boards. I have painted the boards and added texture paint. The paper used on the card is mainly Prima Romance Novel and some Melissa Frances Attic Treasures. I used vintage laces and doilys and as my usual style is...I have used mulitple layers of papers that are all sewn around each piece, distressed with the Tim Holtz paper distresser and also used Gesso to white wash the papers! This has to be one of my favorite cards! I also used Wild Orchid Crafts and I Am Roses flowers.
...OK...onto the birdcage...
I purchased this cage in the wedding section of Walmart...
This spray of flowers consists of a handmade flower from me and several other sources of paper flowers. Added a stick pin with a hanging key charm and a butterfly! Also added a pretty bead spray at the top of the arrangement. and some handmade clay flowers of my own at the bottom right corner.
The sign started out as a blank piece of wood. I wanted it to say "The Flower Shop" in french so I used a translator on line, copy and pasted the french translation to my Publisher program and then changed the font. I printed that onto a piece of Pink Paislee London Market paper (my very favorite piece of paper), then sewed around the edges with my sewing machine, distressed the edges with the Tim Holtz distress tool and glued that to the wood. I punched holes in the wood with my Big Bite Cropadyle tool and added the white curly wire. Then, of course, added texture paint! Loving the texture on my projects right now!
The top bow is sheer ribbon (2 inch wide) from Joanns. I used my sewing machine at the right and left edge of the entire ribbon (about 3 feet long) and then pulled on the excess thread at the end of the ribbon to make it crinkle. Then added some vintage looking lace, a few flowers and a cute "love" charm.Inside the bird cage, there is an entire "shop" of handmade lacey and fabric flowers...about 40+ of them. This cute bird cage also goes to the recipient of the card! Hope she likes them!
...AND I hope that I make this DT! The link to the etsyshop (where there is a ton of yummy laces and trims and such) is listed at the right hand side of my blog...ThePieceByPiece!
Thanks for stopping by! Big Hugs!
