Winter Delight

For this Design Team project for SaCrafters Zibbet shop, I decided to create a fun wall hanging reflecting a "winter wonderland of delight" using creams, blues, and whites.  I purchased an acrylic snowflake from our local DollarTree. The snowflake measures, from tip to tip, about 14 inches. On the all the tips I wanted to have a look of icicles and fresh snow. For the icicles effect, I used Glossy Accents glue and added German Glass Glitter along with Michaels brand of glitter powder. Then at the very tips, for the fresh snow effect, I added Mod Podge and pressed Fun Flock by Stampendous into the Mod Podge. Both of these gave me the desired look I was trying to achieve. In the center I used a paper doily that I thought had a  snowflake look to it. On the doily I, again, used the Mod Podge and Fun Flock. On top of the doily,  I layered a wooden clock piece and wooden clock hands from SaCrafters shop (to signify "time" in this wonderland) and added Wild Orchid Craft and Recollections  flowers. Amidst the flowers, I added crocheted buttons, acrylic gems, acrylic flowers, a lightbulb, Ingvild Bolm's White Heart Gears, Prima Shabby Chic Resin bird and key, May Arts ribbon for the bow, cut up some May Arts pompom trim to tuck in areas to act like snowballs, felt snowflake shapes are tucked here and there and to top it all off, a chipboard word.  On the word, I wanted the color of the chipboard to remain intact, so I just embossed with several layers of clear emboss powder and some glitter emboss powder. I textured everything with cream acrylic paint mixed with sand. I thought this gave a great "snow" effect. I also shimmered everything with a Lindy's Stamp Gang clear shimmer. I thought this gave a great "icicle" shimmer effect. Hanging below, (from SaCrafters shop) I added my usual wood "x,o" and some great wood snowflakes. I love Sa's wooden products! So intricate in design, yet sturdy to layer with! I added a cute little bottle and filled it with mica flakes to simulate captured snow...and hanging at the very bottom, I drew some mittens, free form, (cut out of white felt) and mitten cuffs (cut out of a velour polka dot fabric) and stitched them together in a "country stitch" with embroidery floss. I added some more of SaCrafters wood products on the cuff and on the main mitten.   I added Wild Orchid Craft flowers to the mittens with some felt snowflake shapes and some of Tim Holtz cute ice skate charms! I hung the snowflakes, letters and bottle with white chain, but wanted to hang the mittens with twine to further add the country charm. The links to products I used will be below the pics... and here are the pics:
