Altered Mixed Media 12x12 Wood Pallet 3D Layout (DT Project for Reneabouquets)

I wanted to create a lasting home décor piece as a gift for my nephew and his fiancé (they are getting married this summer-2018). A beautiful batch of Engagement photos were posted on FB and I saved a few of them for this project. It was very hard to decide which one to use! I also purchased a 12x12 rustic wood pallet to use as the home base for the design. I knew the wood itself, would be covered but I liked the sturdiness and 3D design of the pallet. For the overall colors of the design, I wanted to go with the original colors of the photo that I had chosen to work with vs. turning this photo to black and white because I felt it would lend a more striking end result of this 3D layout.

I was lucky to have some Beautiful Board pieces from Reneabouquets (that went PERFECTLY with the design I was wanting to build), as well as some RB Trinkets, RB Mulberry Flowers, RB Tiny Treasures Butterflies, RB Glitter Glass and Microbeads and even some Prima product (in stock at RB) to help capture the overall timeless quality for a treasured keepsake that can be displayed in their home for years to come.

DIY Shabby Chic Altered Metal Envelope (DT Project for Reneabouquets)

I was given a set of Home Décor undecorated metal envelopes and immediately knew I wanted to make it into some kind of romantic, shabby chic piece for the month of February, since we all know it is the month of love! I wanted the piece to be warm, inviting, and full of textures. I had seen several versions of handmade fabric envelopes with stuffed fabric hearts on Pinterest and that was the inspiration that I drew from in creating my own version of a "Love Letter"! I used 3 layers of chipboard hearts (instead of stuffing) covered with textured fabrics for my two largest hearts and for my center heart, I used a Reneabouquets Beautiful Board Lacy Heart Frame. I simply adore the scalloped border and its design allowed me to shape it a little to give it a 3-D effect. I loved the heart so much, I used it again in a smaller size on the envelope itself! I also used a few other of my Reneabouquet Beautiful Board favorites such as, the Quilling Flourishes (located on the larger cream heart), the Cherry Blossom Branches (located on the envelope base to the right side) and an art piece would not be complete without the Decorative Clock Hands! And these are just a few of my favorites on this piece! Who wouldn't love the Beautiful Board Love Locks and Key set hanging off the bow that is attached to the Lacy Heart Frame? Did you also notice the super teeny tiny Beautiful Board Beautiful Bits Tiny Hearts scattered above the "I" in Bliss?
