"Adore" Mini Album. DT Project for ThePiecebyPiece

I've created a mini album for my Design Team project for the ThePiecebyPiece! It's a very Romantic mini album, with ecclectic shaped chipboard pages. It's very shabby chic, textured, full of yummy, yummy, yummy laces, resin charms, acrylic flowers and Prima product...all from ThePiecebyPiece store!
I base coated the entire album with acrylic paint, mixed with sand to give it lots of shabby-chic texture and also used this same texture paint to shabby up the flowers, laces, paper, tags, and embellishments.
Here's the pictures:

"2/14"

I wanted to create a 2 page layout that could be displayed in my home that celebrates the anniversary/love and relationship of my husband and I. Totally love the end result! I love to have eclectic shaped pages so that's why I ended up with a heart shape on the left and an fancy oval shape on the right. I also wanted the pages to "fit" the divided areas of the the metal stand.  I found a stand at an antique mall and completely covered the whole thing in texture paint. I mixed black paint and sand to achieve the texture. I used a bunch of yummy Prima goodies on my layouts from their Romance Novel, Engraver, Lyric and Almanac collections. I love to mix and match collections and colors and Prima does a wonderful job with color combinations that makes it easy to accomplish this! For the mixed media aspect of my design, I used several TCW masks and of course, a Prima mask combined with modeling paste. I also used used some stamping as a layering bonus for more visual interest. On the Tim Holtz chipboard wings, I actually used a crackling paste that I applied very thick and heat set...not so that it would crackle, but so that it would appear "cotton" soft with lots of texture. Then I masked over the left wing and stamped over the right wing...I love the end result! I distressed the edges of all the paper pieces as well as sewed around all the edges of the paper, including our photo. To top it all off, I used a white acrylic paint, again mixed with sand, to add texture over the flowers, embellishments and papers! I wanted this texture to match the overall texture of the stand in which both layouts hang from.

Thanks for looking! Hugsies!

A Perfect Day in Time!

Another altered clock and this one is my FAVORITE!  I'm entering this as one of my projects for the Prima DT call for the 2013/2014 season. And then it's going a beautiful friend! But I'm not gonna say who! ...Yes! I created a swing, some "steps" up to the treehouse and leaned my bike against the fence! :)
Used lots of flowers, yummy prima products from their new wood icons and the Prima Lyric collection(one of my favorite lines behind the Prima Romance Novel), a Tim Holtz goodie or two, a few of my favorite wood pieces from SaCrafters store on Zibbet...and finished it all off with Lindy's Stamp Gang shimmer, and some texture paint to shabby it up a bit. I texture painted the whole clock prior to decorating, used some Crafter's Workshop stencils, Some BoBunny and 7 Gypsies stamps and a little Gesso to whitewash it all up! Here's my pics:

Thanks for checking this out!

"Time" flies when you're having fun!

I'm back with another design team project for Discount Paper Crafts and I've altered another clock! I love, love, love, altering and creating clocks.  It just has to do with the mechanism of time and life and it's story, I guess. I've used lots of product from Cathie's store and lots of goodies are from Prima and Tim Holtz! I will post all the links to the supplies I used at the end of this post...if it's still in stock! Prima and Tim Holtz items move very quickly!! The clock was originally an off white color with flowers painted on the sides. I repainted it with a sand-filled paint so that it would be very textured. I then moved on with several masking techniques, some stenciling, some stamping and then used Lindys Stamp Gang shimmer mist to add some pink color to the mix. I used the Prima Brick Mask, the TCW ledger mask and alphabet mask and for the large stenciled numbers, I used Tim Holtz chipboard numbers (the negatives) and paint to create a 3-D stenciled number.  I used a Bo Bunny chicken wire stamp and a 7 gypsies stamp from my stash for more visual interest. Then I whitewashed over all of these things with gesso to tone it all down. Since a clock has numbers, I wanted to carry the number theme all over the clock. You will notice that in the form of the metal number "5" at the left, stenciled numbers on the front, Prima buttons with numbers, Prima Roman numerals, a Bead Landing Industrial Chic metal charm at the top with numbers on it and even another roman numeral lays amidst the flowers inside the clock area itself! Since there is a large cabinet to the left side of the clock, I wanted to also put a small cabinet handle on the lower right portion...and since things should be done in odd numbers, I even added a Tim Holtz knob at the top of the clock.  I am in love with the new Tim Holtz buckles!! I used that on the front where I attached chain to...which carries over to the left and attaches to the Tim Holtz clock key--another one of his products I love! I also used one of TH new collage keys!  It comes with images, but none to suit this particular project, so I just used some of the Prima Tea Thyme paper to match the Tea Thyme paper in the clock area itself! Ok...enough rambling...Here's the pics:
