I'm back with another design team project for Discount Paper Crafts and I've altered another clock! I love, love, love, altering and creating clocks. It just has to do with the mechanism of time and life and it's story, I guess. I've used lots of product from Cathie's store and lots of goodies are from Prima and Tim Holtz! I will post all the links to the supplies I used at the end of this post...if it's still in stock! Prima and Tim Holtz items move very quickly!! The clock was originally an off white color with flowers painted on the sides. I repainted it with a sand-filled paint so that it would be very textured. I then moved on with several masking techniques, some stenciling, some stamping and then used Lindys Stamp Gang shimmer mist to add some pink color to the mix. I used the Prima Brick Mask, the TCW ledger mask and alphabet mask and for the large stenciled numbers, I used Tim Holtz chipboard numbers (the negatives) and paint to create a 3-D stenciled number. I used a Bo Bunny chicken wire stamp and a 7 gypsies stamp from my stash for more visual interest. Then I whitewashed over all of these things with gesso to tone it all down. Since a clock has numbers, I wanted to carry the number theme all over the clock. You will notice that in the form of the metal number "5" at the left, stenciled numbers on the front, Prima buttons with numbers, Prima Roman numerals, a Bead Landing Industrial Chic metal charm at the top with numbers on it and even another roman numeral lays amidst the flowers inside the clock area itself! Since there is a large cabinet to the left side of the clock, I wanted to also put a small cabinet handle on the lower right portion...and since things should be done in odd numbers, I even added a Tim Holtz knob at the top of the clock. I am in love with the new Tim Holtz buckles!! I used that on the front where I attached chain to...which carries over to the left and attaches to the Tim Holtz clock key--another one of his products I love! I also used one of TH new collage keys! It comes with images, but none to suit this particular project, so I just used some of the Prima Tea Thyme paper to match the Tea Thyme paper in the clock area itself! Ok...enough rambling...Here's the pics:
