Each month Reneabouquets Artists With An Edge FB group hosts a Mood Board Challenge. Its a great way to jump start your creativity using any product from Reneabouquets.com. I've been seeing these cute fabric stuffed hearts in a fabric envelope on Pinterest and have been wanting to make one myself for the last couple of years and finally decided this was the year! The pictures I've seen were adorable and rustic, but I wanted to make my project a little more 3D with the layering of embellishments and I also wanted to tell a love story with those embellishments...what better way to do that than with product from www.reneabouquets.com! So, I had the pleasure of working with a Wood Tag Kit from a friend of mine from www.craftingwithkimber.com. She sells her kits for painting, (and let me tell you....the end results with her painting skills are just cute!) but I thought it would be fun to take this tag kit to the next level and use them for paper crafting! I will have the links below to this particular kit as well as her FB page link and the link to her FB live where she paints this project! I had been seeing people use Dollar Tree hearts and wrap them with twine or yarn and use them for cute home decor! I wanted to do the same look, only I had in mind, to take it up a notch and add a few more items to make this project look a little more romantic for home decor.
Soooo...if you haven't seen this idea before, I purchased two garland wrapped Valentine Hearts (from Dollar Tree) and deconstructed them by removing the garland and paper word decor...which is very easy to do and you can save the garland for another project if you want! The end result leaves you with two reddish brown plastic heart shape forms...which I was going to originally use but decided it didn't quite match my embellishments! So I took both hearts, spray painted them with a matte light brown finish, and then temporarily taped them together with clear scotch tape to form a 3D heart and using two balls of brown twine (also purchased from Dollar Tree), wrapped the entire heart in all directions... up, down, sideways and back again 😃...continuing this process until I was satisfied with the fullness of the twine. When I came to the couple pieces of tape, I removed them, but you could leave them if you wanted. Just make sure the twine covers the tape well enough. Then using tons of beautiful product from Reneabouquets.com, with a color palate of red, black and antique linen, I was able to create a romantic piece I was proud of.
