"Let It Snow" Mixed Media Home Decor Keepsake

I had come across this really cute photo of my niece from last winter and held on to it for a full year waiting until  just the right time to make a memorable home decor piece! I wanted a color palate of blacks, whites and blues to correspond with the photo. If you look closely, the blue comes from her painted fingernails!! Just a small detail to bring out! :) Plus blue just signifies cold and winter to me! I also wanted to add in my usual style with tons of layering and with some mixed media techniques to give this piece some really great texture!! I was able to do this using tons of Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard, Mulberry Paper Flowers and Glitter Glass and Micro Beads....all from Reneabouquets.com! Winter Garland (DT Project for Reneabouquets.com)

   In the month of January, it seems there just aren't too many winter related crafts. We go from Christmas to Valentines....so....I really wanted to create something to celebrate the cold! LOL!
I wanted to stay away from Christmas colors or the reds and pinks of Valentines and what better way to achieve this look but with grays and whites! This is the perfect combo for January!
   With this project, I wanted a fun, rustic look for a garland! I decided to even use some organic white-washed sticks in my garlands, along with snowy looking pine cones!  I also wanted the centerpiece of the garland to have some movement representing snow falling, so I achieved that with one of the Beautiful Board DIY shaker kits from Reneabouquets! I also used Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard product such as snowflakes (tons of them) and some newly released Printed Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard (Jack's Snowman and Diane's Snowman). Super Cute and totally infused with the winter look of this garland!
