Mixed Media/Shabby Chic Wood Plaque (DT Project for Reneabouquets)

I found this 10x4 wood picture at Goodwill and decided it was the perfect "canvas" to turn into a beautiful piece of home décor! I loved the size of the piece as it was small enough to do in no time at all, yet large enough to produce a masterpiece! :) I started off by painting the whole piece (to cover up the original art image) with Black Gesso. I layered burlap with a pretty sheet of paper by Fabscraps for my background. Then using Ranger Texture paste and a Prima stencil, I added some texture. While the paste was still soft, I used some Reneabouquets Glitter Glass in Pink and pressed it into the paste. Then I set it all with a heat tool. I love to add Glitter Glass into texture paste, I think it adds a soft shimmery romantic feel to any project. Once this foundation was laid, I basically went to town layering tons of Prima product and beautiful flowers and butterflies....most of which all came from Reneabouquets! Once everything was set in place, I then used Prima 3-D Matte Gel and more Reneabouquets Glitter Glass in pink in various places to finish everything off. Shabby Chic Vase (DT Project for Reneabouquets)

Sooooo, I found this ceramic style vase/urn "thingie" (LOL) at a thrift store and it had very old, ugly, fabric flowers inside...which I promptly removed! The vase was painted a blue/green color with cream swooshes...I'm guessing so it to look distressed. I began painting the entire piece with Prima Texture Paste in White Crackle. It turned out great...allowing the original color tone to bleed through just slightly...which is perfect, because I wanted the rest of the goodies to be in colors of blues and whites. I chose flowers from my stash which include some from Prima, the Stationers Desk collection and I also chose some wonderful Prima embellishments such as Ingvild Bolme's Shabby Chic Treasures metal heart gears, metal clock face, metal clock hands, metal street sign, resin oval frame and from Finnabair's Vintage Mechanicals collection, the metal skeleton clock. I also used Bead Landing gears and a large 3-d metal heart from Michaels. All the embellishments that were bronze, silver or gold in color, I painted white to match the color scheme. The beautiful Blue fabric flower...came from Renea's shop, however, it was originally white. I was able to use Lindy's Stamp Gang shimmer spray in Whale Watch Blue to change the color of the flower to suit my project. In the cluster of clocks and frames in the center of the project, you will notice a metal Baroque frame. This is from Renea's  shop. It's actually a beautiful antique gold and comes in a set of 2. But I was able to paint it white...still so pretty! The Beautiful Glitter Glass butterflies also came from Renea's shop. These are the Tiny Treasures butterflies, called "Ice". Some of the Prima product was also from Rena's shop. I will list all the products I used from her shop down below.  I added some rub-on words to the front of my vase. I don't know the brands of these...I've had them for awhile. I wanted to add a delicate touch to the project, so I decided to add some heart shaped chain hanging off the front of the vase and then added another gear and lock in the center of that. I wanted to bring the Glitter Glass of the butterflies onto the project as well, to tie in the theme of the Glitter Glass, so I used some of this beautiful glitter from Renea's shop in a light grey shade. Mixed Media "XO" Shadow Box (GDT Project for SaCrafters.com)

This is a mixed media, shabby chic style, shadow box project for SaCrafters.com. I love this project because I seem to be drawn to anything with an "xo" on it and this is right up my alley! I love how the "o" is in the shape of a heart! For this project I used the Graphic 45 paper collection, Botanical Tea! I Pulled out papers with pink shades. For the top layer of the shadow box, I used Prima texture paste in white sand and applied it with a pounce brush and followed that up with some shimmery goodness by  Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Old Lace. For the "x" I placed the décor on top and for the "o" I placed the décor inside. I wanted the "x" to appear to be hinged to the "o", so I used a wooden hinge from SaCrafters. I love these hinges. this particular hinge is the smaller size. On the "x" I used a wooden skeleton clock from SaCrafters and placed a pair of  Prima resin wings and Prima metal clock face  on top of a resin frame. I finished it all off with the wood sentiment "noted" also from SaCrafters. To add some whimsy to this word,  I used a metal gear, a Tim Holtz spinner piece and a Tim Holtz number 8 turned sideways to represent the eternity symbol. Inside the "o" I used tons of Wild Orchid Craft flowers and metal gears from Bead Landing and Prima as well as a Prima lightbulb. At the bottom I used another wood sentiment from SaCrafters, which I thought went appropriately with the "xo" theme! I wanted to add a small moving element to the product...just for fun...so I add some chain hooked to the hinge sweeping over to the sentiment and finished off with a dangling key. I wanted to add a little more texture to complete the project, so I used Prima 3D Matte Gel medium and some Prima Glass Beads in various areas.
