I decided to use a ceramic flower pot and its drain lid to turn it into an embellishment organizer! I thought it would be a cute way to dress up a boring old flower pot! I wanted to give the flower pot a shabby chic vintage look. I started by using Martha Stewart's new line of chalk paint called Vintage Décor paint in seashell pink and painted both pieces. I then used sand paper to rub off paint in the highlighted areas, then I glued the drain lid onto the bottom of the flower pot to create my organizer! Then came the easy part! I decorated the flower pot using tons of Wild Orchid Craft flowers, Prima resin and metal pieces and the beautiful pieces from ReneaBouquets Etsy shop! She makes the cutest flowers and butterflies, but also carries Mixed media product as well. Which is how I was able to stencil onto the flower pot using a Prima stencil and Ranger Texture paste from Renea's store! Although I used up some 'real estate" in the drain lid where embellishments can be stored, its still a super cute idea, I think! It just oozes spring and summer doesn't it? Here's the pics:
