DIY Rustic Home Decor: 3D Twine Heart "Love Beyond Words"

I had been seeing people use Dollar Tree hearts and wrap them with twine or yarn and use them for cute home decor! I wanted to do the same look, only I had in mind, to take it up a notch and add a few more items to make this project look a little more romantic for home decor.
Soooo...if you haven't seen this idea before, I purchased two garland wrapped Valentine Hearts (from Dollar Tree) and deconstructed them by removing the garland and paper word decor...which is very easy to do and you can save the garland for another project if you want! The end result leaves you with two reddish brown plastic heart shape forms...which I was going to originally use but decided it didn't quite match my embellishments! So I took both hearts, spray painted them with a matte light brown finish, and then temporarily taped them together with clear scotch tape to form a 3D heart and using two balls of brown twine (also purchased from Dollar Tree), wrapped the entire heart in all directions... up, down, sideways and back again 😃...continuing this process until I was satisfied with the fullness of the twine. When I came to the couple pieces of tape, I removed them, but you could leave them if you wanted. Just make sure the twine covers the tape well enough. Then using tons of beautiful product from Reneabouquets.com, with a color palate of red, black and antique linen, I was able to create a romantic piece I was proud of.

"Let It Snow" Mixed Media Home Decor Keepsake

I had come across this really cute photo of my niece from last winter and held on to it for a full year waiting until just the right time to make a memorable home decor piece! I wanted a color palate of blacks, whites and blues to correspond with the photo. If you look closely, the blue comes from her painted fingernails!! Just a small detail to bring out! :) Plus blue just signifies cold and winter to me! I also wanted to add in my usual style with tons of layering and with some mixed media techniques to give this piece some really great texture!! I was able to do this using tons of Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard, Mulberry Paper Flowers and Glitter Glass and Micro Beads....all from Reneabouquets.com! Winter Garland (DT Project for Reneabouquets.com)

In the month of January, it seems there just aren't too many winter related crafts. We go from Christmas to Valentines....so....I really wanted to create something to celebrate the cold! LOL!
I wanted to stay away from Christmas colors or the reds and pinks of Valentines and what better way to achieve this look but with grays and whites! This is the perfect combo for January!
With this project, I wanted a fun, rustic look for a garland! I decided to even use some organic white-washed sticks in my garlands, along with snowy looking pine cones! I also wanted the centerpiece of the garland to have some movement representing snow falling, so I achieved that with one of the Beautiful Board DIY shaker kits from Reneabouquets! I also used Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard product such as snowflakes (tons of them) and some newly released Printed Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard (Jack's Snowman and Diane's Snowman). Super Cute and totally infused with the winter look of this garland! Christmas Belle Wood Tag (Design Team Project for Reneabouquets)

I wanted to put together an easy, yet shabby chic Christmas Wood Tag featuring the endearing Reneabouquets Printed Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard of "Christmas Belle". She emits those feelings of being hurried while bustling about doing her Christmas Shopping with her cute little dog trying to pull her in a different direction...I'm assuming he's wanting a little afternoon treat and letting Belle know that it's time to hurry home! I know, right! A lot of story from one cute vintage image! Sooooo, she had to become the focus of this particular project! I used lots of great product from Reneabouquets.com! This project did not take much time to complete and would make a cute piece of home decor for Christmas or to give as a gift to that special someone! Shabby Chic Fall Sign (DT Project for Reneabouquets.com)

I found these cute little signs with knobs on them at Dollar Tree, bought more than I needed, and pulled one out for this project! I wanted to come in with one last Fall themed project for the season, as I know that everyone is well on their way into doing crafts for Christmas...even me...but I couldn't let the beautiful colors of Fall go away so quickly! I wanted to feature some beautiful Reneabouquets Mulberry Flowers for this project, particularly with the 13 pc. set of the Dark Olive Roses and Leaves. Rustic Shabby Fabric Pumpkin (Design Team project for Reneabouquets.com)

In all honesty, I needed a quick, cute, rustic type piece of art for this project, as I am knee deep in creating designs for upcoming Christmas Craft bazaars. BUT, I still wanted something that could showcase the gorgeous Reneabouquets product. I started with hand drawing my own pattern for a long shaped pumpkin, sewed the perimeter with my sewing machine...now, normally, here is where you would turn the pumpkin inside out to hide the seams you've just sewn. I didn't want to do that. I thought it would be cuter to let the seams show and add to the rustic appeal. and...its quicker. LOL. Then you simply stuff the pumpkin, added twine to give my pumpkin some sections, add a stem from a tree branch...either from your backyard, or Dollar Tree has put out bags of all types of tree stems from different types of trees in varying widths...and those were the stems for me! Once the pumpkin is ready, its time to decorate! The pumpkin ends up measuring about 5 inches tall and abut 12 inches long. Here are the photos! Shabby Chic Altered Frame (DT Project for Reneabouquets)

I realize that by now, all the Christmas Decor has hit the stores, and yes...I'm already beginning projects for Christmas Bazaars, but my heart still wanted to create a design team project that captures calmer tones of the popular Fall colors of grays, ivory and add in some beautiful tones of aquas. I also wanted a relatively easy DIY project that looked like I spent a lot of time creating it.! :).
I started with a home decor frame/sign that I purchased from Hobby Lobby in the Fall Decor section this year. It was perfect as it already had the farmhouse look with wood grain and stained a nice shade of grey. It did have a hefty price tag of about $3(on sale). LOL. I love to pack a lot of product in a small space! It doesn't take too much time, allows me to layer...alot... and in the end, create a memorable statement piece when it is finished. I used a lot of Reneabouquets product including some Beautiful Board pieces for fall, some beautiful mulberry flowers in seafoam and my favorite Chiffon flowers with Rhinestone and Pearl centers.
